I am a Principal Research Scientist at Comcast Labs, Washington, DC since 2015. Prior to this, I was a Principal Investigator and a Staff Scientist at UTRC, East Hartford, CT. I received my Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Engineering from UIUC, and B.S. from Northeastern University, China. My research interests include Computer Vision and Machine Learning/Deep Learning for autonomy, security and multimedia applications. I had short-term research experience in Mitsubishi MERL, Siemens Corporate Research and IBM Almaden Research. I have published 40+ journal and conference papers in CVPR, ICCV, SIGGRAPH, IJCV etc., and hold 40+ patents and patent applications (19 U.S. patents awarded), with 2700+ citations. I have been an Associate Editor for the Visual Computer Journal since 2012, and serve as an industrial chair for ACCV 2014 and an area chair from WACV 2014 to 2016. I am a Senior Member of IEEE.
